About MICPA

A founding member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC)

Established in 1958, The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) remains the only homegrown professional accountancy body that has played a vital role in developing Certified Public Accountants who are highly-regarded and sought after in industry. The Institute works closely with Malaysian regulatory bodies to provide its input and views on behalf of its members that have influenced the accounting and business landscape of our nation.

In 2009, MICPA and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) (then known as the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA)) partnered to offer a joint professional programme that leads to memberships with both bodies.

As a result, the MICPA x CA ANZ Qualifying Programme was introduced to instil technical accounting knowledge and understanding of the Malaysian business environment, and provide Programme graduates with the credentials to practise in Malaysia and internationally.
